"Thank you" for a peaceful sky: The University took part in a celebratory rally on the Alley of Heroes.
The university's administration, staff, and students took part in a ceremonial rally dedicated to Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus and the 81st anniversary of our country's liberation from Nazi invaders. The event took place in a place dear to every citizen's heart — the Alley of Heroes.
At the foot of the Unknown Soldier Monument, representatives of different generations gathered to thank veterans for the peaceful skies and honor the memory of those who gave their lives for our bright future.
Feelings of grief for the fallen, pride for their fathers, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers, and boundless gratitude filled the hearts of Gomel residents. With each passing year, the number of those who participated in those terrible events of the war years dwindles, but their memory lives on, and their heroism is immortal.
Today, decades later, we must preserve this priceless gift—the independence of our country, a country with such a rich and complex history. Every year, we bow our heads at memorial sites and say "thank you" to those who fought and liberated Belarus. To those who rebuilt it from ruins and built a peaceful life.
