In 2002 the International Center for Advanced Studies (ICAS) was established  with the purpose of  consolidation of  research potentials of the P.O.Sukhoi State Technical University of Gomel and Joint Institute for Nuclear Research  (the city of Doubna, Russia).  The Center participates in  joint research projects and programs under the Agreement between  Joint Institute for Nuclear Research and the Government of  the Republic of Belarus:

•  “Theory of Elementary Particles”  within the frames of   Governmental program of international cooperation between the institutions of  the Republic of Belarus and Joint Institute for Nuclear Research     
• “Convergence” within the frames of  Governmental program of research for the years 2011-2015.

In 2004 the Laboratory for Physical Studies was established which is the affiliate of  the  Abdus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics ( the city of Trieste, Italy). The Laboratory researchers participate in the long-term joint project  “ATLAS general purpose pp-experiment  at LHC”  with Joint Institute for Nuclear  Research (Doubna, Russia) and also provide research under the Sandwich Training Educational Program for post-graduate students from Eastern and Western Europe countries (STEP).
