GSTU Students Continue Training Under the Dual Education System
At the International Training Center for Well Control of the International Business Academy "Belorusneft," third-year students specializing in Development and Operation of Oil and Gas Fields at Gomel State Technical University (GSTU) attended an introductory training session. The event was held as part of the dual education agreement, which integrates theoretical knowledge with practical application in the educational process.
The session was conducted by Denis Sergeevich Matveenko, an external lecturer and a practicing drilling specialist. Under his guidance, students were introduced to the capabilities of the DrillSim-5000 simulator, equipped with a cyber driller’s chair, where they practiced key well construction skills in conditions close to real industrial settings.
The practical segment logically continued the theoretical modules studied during the spring semester.
As part of the course, students also mastered:
✅ Modern approaches to well management
✅ Industrial safety protocols
✅ Operation of specialized software for the oil and gas industry.
Upon completion of the training, all participants successfully passed final certification and received certificates confirming their qualifications and acquired competencies. The dual education system at GSTU ensures deeper professional knowledge acquisition, the development of practical skills, and enhances graduates' competitiveness in the labor market.
Sessions like these are a critical step in preparing highly qualified specialists for Belarus' oil and gas industry.
