On April 10-11, 2025, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Grigoriy Petrishin and Head of the International Relations Department Natalya Zhuravskaya visited the partner university, Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology (IMUST), in Baotou, China.

The purpose of the visit was to present GSTU's higher education programs and to deepen scientific cooperation between universities and countries.

The IMUST administration emphasized the importance of this visit as part of the ongoing cooperation agreement between our universities.

Following negotiations, both sides agreed to initiate joint scientific research and to exchange faculty and students. As a result of the meeting, an agreement was signed to establish a joint Belarusian-Chinese international laboratory, “Laboratory of Advanced Technologies for Coating Creation and Equipment Parts Restoration.”

The joint laboratory will enable the development of transnational cooperation in the fields of materials science, advanced technologies for machine part restoration, and intelligent manufacturing.

At a meeting with potential students, the Belarusian delegation introduced Chinese applicants to Belarusian culture and history, spoke about the city of Gomel and its attractions, and presented key information about GSTU's capabilities, opportunities, and advantages of studying at our university.

As a result of the interviews, a group of IMUST students was selected to enroll in GSTU’s master's programs. We are confident that the creation of exemplary results from Belarusian-Chinese collaboration in higher education will contribute to industrial modernization and technological innovations in both countries.
