Meeting of International Students with Representatives of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Gomel City Department of Internal Affairs, Border Guard Service, and University Administration at Sukhoi State Technical University of Gomel
On March 21, 2025, Sukhoi State Technical University, a meeting was held with international students, postgraduates, and participants of the Pre-University Preparation and Career Guidance Department. The attendees included representatives from the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Gomel City Department of Internal Affairs, the Border Guard Service, and the university administration. The purpose of the meeting was to ensure compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus and to prevent offenses and crimes among international students.
The event was attended by: Inspector of the Group for Work with Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Soviet District Department of Internal Affairs of Gomel, Police Captain Kononovich I.M.; Senior Officer of the 2nd Division of the 3rd Directorate of Military Unit 1242, Major Volkov A.L.; Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Petrishin G.V.; Head of the International Relations Department Zhuravskaya N.L., as well as specialists from the International Relations Department, Pre-University Preparation and Career Guidance Department, and Department of Ideological and Educational Work.
The meeting addressed several important topics, including compliance with legal requirements when crossing the border of the Republic of Belarus, timely processing of documents for travel outside Belarus, early submission of documents for re-registration with the Citizenship and Migration Department when changing residence, legal employment opportunities for international students in Belarus, and obtaining medical insurance, among other issues. It was explained to those present that in case of violation of the legislation of the Republic of Belarus, administrative and criminal liability is provided.
For a correct understanding of the issues discussed, the International Relations Department provided translation into English and Arabic for students from African countries and the Middle East.
