Polytech at the International Volunteer Forum
On November 13, the International Forum for the exchange of experience among coordinators of the volunteer movement “Training. Continuity. Development. Together we can do more!”, as well as the Volunteer Forum “International Commonwealth through the experience and skill of the volunteer movement” started in Minsk. Sukhoi State Technical University of Gomel was presented at a huge event by Elena Valeryevna Voytishenyuk, a senior lecturer at the Department of Belarusian and Foreign Languages.
As part of the Forum, participants got acquainted with the Republican Volunteer Center - the main platform for the volunteer movement in Belarus. The head of the RVC, Victoria Zakharevskaya, spoke about the activities of the center and the system of organizing volunteerism in the republic. For representatives of educational institutions, an intensive course was held for acquaintance, cohesion and team building for volunteers and coordinators, representatives of delegations of the CIS countries.
On November 14, honored guests arrived at the opening ceremony to greet the forum participants: Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Ekaterina Aleksandrovna Petrutskaya, Head of the Department for Cooperation in the Field of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth of the Department of Humanitarian Cooperation, General Political and Social Problems of the CIS Executive Committee Tatyana Nikolaevna Kovaleva. The forum participants paid tribute to the heroes of the Great Victory by taking part in laying flowers at the “Minsk – Hero City” Stella. The excursion to the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War was another gift for all participants of the event. The first day of a bright international event ended with new knowledge, amazing discoveries, constructive plans and positivity! The next work site is the National Children's Technopark. NCT is an educational institution whose goal is to support gifted students, develop their interest in scientific, technical and innovative activities, and strive for personal scientific achievements.
After the introductory tour, forum participants joined the work of volunteer interactive platforms. Unique technologies for working with volunteers were presented at the “Volunteers of the Commonwealth” master classes: a design thinking workshop. Participants learned about the types of volunteer motivation and created a formula for prolonging volunteer activity in the life cycle of a project. We look forward to the return of our representative with new ideas for implementing even more cool projects at our university!
