GSTU took part in the VI Republican festival of military-patriotic song
On May 3, representatives of various higher education institutions of our city gathered on the stage of the Belarusian State University of Transport to remember the hard times — the Great Patriotic War. While men fought, defending their country, women worked at enterprises to do everything for the front. But people sang, recited poetry. This raised the morale of the people. And these songs today penetrate straight into the soul.
On the eve of the Great Victory Day, employees and students of the Sukhoi State Technical University of Gomel took part in the VI Republican Festival of Military-Patriotic Songs among students - citizens of foreign countries, dedicated to the 79th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
In the rich program of the festival, foreign students from Azerbaijan, Brazil, Vietnam, Egypt, India, China, Sri Lanka, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan presented songs of the war years by Soviet composers, literary and artistic and dance numbers. The festival gave the audience a unique opportunity to observe a real constellation of talents of representatives of different nationalities who live, study and work in our country. All participants presented worthy numbers with an original creative presentation.
Creative performances from our university were presented by the employee of the Department of Educational Work with Youth Elsherbini Salah Mohammed Elsayed (Egypt), who amazed the audience in the hall with the sincerity of the performance of the song "Dark Night" in Russian, and the Folk Song Ensemble "Slavyane" (Belarus), who piercingly performed the song "On the Nameless Height". The idea that today we must make every effort to preserve peace and tranquility ran through the speeches of the Polytechnic representatives. And for this we need to remember our history well and the lessons that we learned from the tragic events of the Great Patriotic War. This is an everlasting pain, it is in our hearts, it is in our souls. And we will do everything in our power to preserve the bright memory of those who did everything so that we could live in an independent and sovereign Belarus. And the songs performed at the festival are proof that this memory will be passed on from generation to generation.
We congratulate the students of our university on their successful performance!
