Polytech students took part in the qualifying stage of the Ministry of Education of the republican competition “100 Ideas for Belarus”
On February 13-14, 2024, the qualifying stage of the Ministry of Education of the republican competition “100 ideas for Belarus” was held at the educational institution “National Children's Technopark” (Minsk). A total of 127 projects were presented and won at regional interuniversity rounds. In total, at the first stage, the organizing committee of the competition received more than 330 applications from higher education institutions. Our Polytech was represented by 7 projects in 4 categories: “Energy, including nuclear energy, and energy efficiency”, “Society and social sphere”, “Healthcare”, “Chemical technologies and petrochemistry”.
In the “Energy” nomination, 10 best projects from higher education institutions were presented, including 2 projects from our university: “Use of gravitational storage devices to regulate load schedules of the power system of the Republic of Belarus” (author – Batan Pavel, group ES-51; scientific supervisor – senior Lecturer at the Department of Electrical Supply Zhukovets S.G.), “Technology for producing thin films for solar intensity sensors” (project team: senior researcher at the Research Institute, Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial Electronics, Ph.D. Al-Kamali Marwan, graduate student of the Department of Industrial Electronics Andrey Zapolsky; scientific supervisor - Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of the University Boyko A.A.).
In his project, Pavel Batan proposes to use a non-standard method of leveling the load schedules of our country’s energy system, which in turn leads to a good economic effect.
Al-Kamali Marwan and Andrey Zapolsky proposed in their project the use of new technologies in the field of alternative energy, in particular for solar light intensity sensors. The essence of the project is to optimize the technology for producing thin films for solar intensity sensors, formed by vacuum methods from high-silica targets synthesized by the sol-gel method. In the “Society and Social Sphere” nomination, 34 projects were presented, including 3 projects of our university: “Zubramova”, “An application for the provision of basic medical care with consultations “Pocket Clinic”, “Edutravel.BY - an interactive platform about the Republic of Belarus for foreign students and tourists."
The “Zubramova” project, developed by RT-41 group student Alexander Kucherov together with GSMU student Daniil Korotkevich, involves the creation of a platform for studying the Belarusian language and culture with the aim of preserving and disseminating them.
The project “Application for the provision of basic medical care with consultations “Pocket Clinic”” was developed by 1st year students of the specialty “Economics and Management” of the Faculty of Humanities and Economics Diana Anufrieva, Daniil Sokolov, Vladimir Gubchenko under the guidance of senior teacher O.V. Shvayakova. The goal of the project is to create a unified application for the provision of medical services. The project “Edutravel.BY - an interactive platform about the Republic of Belarus for foreign students and tourists” was developed with the aim of creating an interactive online platform with information about the Republic of Belarus, its scientific and educational potential, historical and cultural values and tourist routes, as well as a catalog of consulates and embassies and basic information about visiting our country for foreign citizens. The platform includes a mobile application, a bot program, a website and communities on social networks. The project team is a graduate student of the Department of Industrial Electronics, Andrey Zapolsky; student of group PE-21 Boreshka Daniil, senior researcher at the Research Institute, Associate Professor of the Department of Industrial Electronics, Ph.D. Al-Kamali Marwan, graduate student of the Department of Materials Science in Mechanical Engineering Salah Elsherbini). The nomination “Healthcare (medical technology, pharmacy, bio and nanoindustry) was represented by 15 projects, including the project “Development and launch of production of an occluder for vision correction,” developed by students of our university. The goal of the project is to create and launch on the territory of the Republic of Belarus an occluder, which is designed to block vision in a healthy eye in case of amblyopia, with a number of advantages over foreign analogues. Project team: students of group TT-41 of the Faculty of Mechanics and Technology Polina Klyachkova, Anastasia Levkina and Egor Zaitsev; scientific supervisor – senior lecturer Astrakhantsev S.E.). The nomination “Chemical technologies, petrochemistry” was represented by 10 projects, including our university project “Composite materials based on magnesium oxide for the sorption of petroleum products, obtained by the sol-gel method” (project team: graduate student of the department of “Materials Science in Mechanical Engineering” Salah Elsherbini, senior researcher Scientific Research Institute, Associate Professor of the Department of Industrial Electronics, Candidate of Technical Sciences Al-Kamali Marwan, Postgraduate Student of the Department of Industrial Electronics Andrey Zapolsky; Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of the University Boyko A.A. ). The goal of the project is to develop new types of composite materials for the sorption of petroleum products.
In addition to the defense of projects and the exhibition, the Ministry of Education stage of the “100 Ideas for Belarus” competition was full of various events, such as intellectual games and master classes, which made it possible to learn a lot of useful information on how to confidently defend your idea, correctly prepare your presentation, what events and organizations exist, where you can present your idea and much more. In addition, intellectual games, exhibitions and free time have become excellent opportunities for establishing inter-university, both professional and simply friendly connections.
On February 14, at the closing ceremony, the results of the projects “Use of gravitational storage devices to regulate load schedules of the power system of the Republic of Belarus”, “Technology for producing thin films for solar intensity sensors”, “Development and launch of production of an occluder for vision correction”, were summed up. presented by our university, received tickets to the final republican stage of the competition, which will be held this spring. Projects that do not advance further are awarded a certificate of participation and can be presented after revision in the next season of the competition.
