On October 10, 2019, GSTU administration met the delegation of the SUE "Fan wa Tarakkiet" ("Science and Progress") of Tashkent State Technical University (Tashkent, Uzbekistan). The Uzbek delegation was represented by the First Deputy Chairman of the SUE "Fan wa Tarakkiet" Tashkent State Technical University Islamov J. U. and associate professor Karshiev R. S. Negotiations with Uzbek colleagues were conducted by Vice-Rector for Education and Instruction Sychev A.V. and Vice-Rector for Research Boiko A.A.

The subject of negotiations has been the creation of the non-governmental higher educational institution “Uzbek-Belarusian University of Materials Science” in Tashkent. This Institution is supposed to train specialists in the field of Materials Science and 3D Technologies.

During the meeting, the Uzbek delegation presented the work done in Uzbekistan to organize the Uzbek-Belarusian University of Materials Science, the draft Charter of the higher educational institution "Uzbek-Belarusian University of Materials Science" and proposed on a request to the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus to support a joint project. Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on supporting this project by GSTU and making proposals from our University administration to the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus on supporting the initiative of the Uzbek side. The first student enrollment to the Uzbek-Belarusian University of Materials Science is expected in summer 2020.
