On February 21 the University was visited by Mr. Ismatullo Shodiyev, Director of the Center for International Programs of the Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan. I. Shodiyev visited our country by the invitation of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus for the purpose of getting acquainted with the educational and scientific activity of the Belarusian universities, discussing the possible directions of educational and research cooperation and also inspecting the students from Tajikistan that are studying at Belarusian universities.

During his visit Mr. Shodiyev was met and accompanied by Dr. Aliaksandr Sychou, Vice Rector for Education and Instruction, Dr. Mikhail Novikov, Dean of the Power Engineering Faculty, and Mr. Alexander Semak, Head of the International Department. I. Shodiyev met with students from Tajikistan that are now studying at GSTU. During the conversation the matters of studying, living and recreation were discussed. Mr. Shodiyev got acquainted with the educational programs of the University, Bachelor and Master programs, the possibilities of organizing the spare time for students etc. Also several questions concerning the possibilities of organizing the educational process for the students from Tajikistan both on the commercial basis and on the basis of state agreements were discussed.

In the conclusion of the visit I. Shodiyev thanked the University administration for the possibility of visiting and getting acquainted with GSTU and for the attention paid to the citizens of Tajikistan that are studying at the University.
