The Visit of the Ambassador of India to GSTU
On October 27, 2017 the University was visited by the Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Republic of Belarus Mr. Pankaj Saxena. During the meeting with the University Administration and the Administration of the Automation and Information Systems Faculty organization of joint projects in the educational sphere was discussed.
It is not occasional that His Excellency has chosen the Sukhoi State Technical University of Gomel as one of the key points of the visit. In 2009 the agreement on the establishment of the joint educational IT centers in terms of realization of Memorandum of Understanding between Belarus and India was concluded. Such centers were established on the basis of the renowned organizations providing training for the IT-specialists, including the Belarusian Hi-Tech Park and Sukhoi State Technical University of Gomel. The joint IT center started functioning at the University in 2011.
At present the center is the place where the lectures for Bachelor students, Master and PhD students are organized, also it is used for conducting the research work and organization of joint events with the participation of Hi-Tech Park residents. The Hi-Tech Park leading residents are organizing regular workshops and seminars for the Unievrsity students, lecturers and researchers. The modern multimedia equipment provided on the basis of Belarusian-Indian educational center is frequently used during such events. The students are also engaged in practical training and diploma training on the basis of the Belarusian Hi-Tech Park. Taking into account the requests of the HTP residents a new prospective speciality for the training of IT specialists (Information Systems and Technologies (in gaming industry)) was opened.
The Ambassador’s countryman, Peeyush Barskar , PhD Student of our University also took part in the meeting. He received his Master’s Degree at our University in the sphere of mathematical modeling, numerical methods and program complexes and at present is doing his research work in the sphere of elements and devices of computer engineering and conduction systems. In October 2017 according to the results of certification Peeyush Barskar was qualified as the researcher-engineer.
The meeting took place in the atmosphere of international friendship and mutual understanding. The Ambassador noted that Belarus and India were ready to develop further the mutual relationships in the spheres of information and communucation technologies by means of the implementation of new projects in these spheres with all the necessary means and conditions available.
